All of us at Adalah-NY are wishing you a new year of more justice and joy
Dear Friend of Adalah-NY,
As we enter our sixteenth year, we continue our boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) work with hopeful determination: We are inspired by Palestinians’ uprising this past spring, the Unity Intifada, and ongoing resistance to Israel’s violence and theft of land and resources. And we are energized by the outpouring of popular support for the Palestinian-led BDS movement.
Can you help us expand our BDS campaigns in 2022? Your tax-deductible donation will help transform the surge of support for Palestinian rights into sustained pressure to end Israeli apartheid.
In the coming year, we plan to build on crucial groundwork we laid in 2021:
We will campaign for the boycott of Brooklinen, a trendy Brooklyn-based online retailer that sources its sheets in Israel. Brooklinen recently opened its first brick-and-mortar stores in NYC.
We will connect artists and audiences with Amplify Palestine, our new website on cultural boycott. This past spring, when we helped to mobilize writers to support the groundbreaking “Letter Against Apartheid” as Israel bombed Gaza and violently dispossessed Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah, we saw that artists are ready to take public action. We are creating resources to expand support for cultural boycott.
Together with BDS Houston and a team of musicians and cultural workers, we will launch #BDSmixtape, a compilation from musicians who support the Palestinian #BDS call.
Your donation will help us launch #BDSmixtape and other boycott initiatives in 2022
We will challenge Israel lobby groups seeking to silence BDS advocates. We will continue to expose entertainment industry group “Creative Community for Peace” as a front for the right-wing, anti-Palestinian group StandWithUs. And we will continue our work in the broad coalition of advocates for the right to BDS in NY State.
As more people see through its false narrative, Israel has been relentless in its attempt to silence Palestinians and suppress support for Palestinian rights – from its dangerous criminalization of leading Palestinian NGOs to its absurd vow to “act aggressively” against Ben & Jerry’s for withdrawing its products from settlements. Let’s redouble our efforts to build power and pressure through boycott, divestment, and sanctions.
Please donate today to make 2022 a year of bigger and bolder BDS campaigns in NYC and beyond!
Thank you for your support!
